ODMT-Clinching Technogy
Our clinch procedure is a proven substitute for welding, screwing & riveting.
Clinching: Riveting without rivets!
Clinching is a simple joining technique that does not require heat or additional elements. The Clinching process produces a button-type, positive connection of two or three layers of sheet metal using a cold-forming process. Due to its cost effectiveness and reliability, Clinching is highly regarded by the whole sheet metal working industry.
FORMING THE ROUND JOINT
1.Penetration
2.Setting up
3.Emergence of upper contour
4.Filling of ring groove
5.Lateral spreading of punch side material
6.Finished Round Joint
Round Point
The patented Round Joint is the core of our technology. A simple round punch presses the materials to be joined into the die cavity. As the force continues to increase, the punch side material is forced to spread outwards within the die side material. Our sheet metal round joining systems are made using the latest manufacturing and surface coating techniques and provide long life expectancy and high joining quality. The result: an aesthetically pleasing round button, which joins clearly without any burrs or sharp edges on which corrosion could set in. Even with aluminized or galvanized sheet metals, the anti-corrosive properties remain intact as the protective layer flows with the material. Electric Conductivity. The clinching dies are extremely resilient due to the exclusive insert with oil relief system.
Advantages of the Clinching Technology
1.Economical - clinching is significantly more cost efficient than spot welding
2.Reliable - we guarantee joint strength values
3.Versatile - clinching is usable for numerous material combinations
4.Environmentally friendly - clinching is energy saving, clean and quiet
5.User oriented - technology and all production equipment comes from ODMT
For many metal joinings, Clinching is the optimal, most favourable and environmentally sound solution.
